“Summer schools” have been held regularly since 2013 on various topics. They are intended to promote the exchange of scientific experience, networking and the further education of students, doctoral candidates and interested scientists, especially in the Berlin science area. They were initiated by the Core Facility BioSupraMol and have been continued since 2022 as part of the BUA, in which Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Technische Universität Berlin and Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin conduct joint research and share resource.

At this year's event, EM specialists from the BUA Research Hub and external experts from the field will share their expertise on the following topics at Freie Universität Berlin:

• Electron Microscopy in Material Science
• Structural Biology/Molecular EM
• Ultra-Structure/Cellular EM
• Supramolecular Chemistry

In addition to the scientific presentations, methods, techniques and equipment from the BUA research area will be presented.
Laboratory tours through the Research Centre for Electron Microscopy (FZEM) and the EM area of the SupraFAB research building are planned.
